Update on the NAVWAR Redevelopment project.

Looks like about 9000 new housing units plus retail and hotels along the 5, aligned to the highest density option proposed by NAVWAR. If this is able to draw Navy employees and contractors to live and play closer to the office this can pull a lot of cars off the freeways, reducing environmental impact.

One miss in the story, as this is federal land, city and state laws and zoning generally won't apply, so it will use the federal NEPA not California's CEQA process for the environmental impact report.

This has the potential to be a very positive development (pun intended) for our community!
